"As we were walking across the bridge in Gion, Kyoto, there was a beautiful Japanese crane in the water. Picture Perfect - I knew then and there that I wanted to paint this. And the added subtle fan pattern in the water is my nod to the beautiful kimonos that the geisha wear as Gion is Kyoto's most famous geisha district"
